Sasquatch 2006

This years Sasquatch Festival was awesome! I took C and we went up with my friend Dave, my boss Heath, and his newphew Nolan. We had a fantastic time. The weather was pretty good, in that it wasn't 100 degrees like last year. It was in the high 70s I think and only sprinkled rain a few times, and only a few minutes at a time.

The bands were kick ass. Even the ones I didn't really care about sounded good and weren't lousy or anything. Here goes the run down:

Pretty Girls Make Graves- Not bad at all. Kinda reminds me of Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Rockin'.

Nada Surf- Sounded really good, won't rush out for their albums, but good non the less.

Arctic Monkeys- These young Brits rocked the place to the ground!! Holy Shite! A band on their way up, for sure. Keep your ears open for them.

We Are Scientists- Only got to see four songs, but it was worth the running between stages to catch a glimpse. Also got their autographs at the record booth. Really cool guys. Check 'em out.

The Decemberists- One of the reasons I went to this show! Can't even find the words for how cool this outfit is. Worth a listen for sure!

Clap your Hands Say Yeah- Way cool. Like Arcade Fire with David Byrne for a lead singer.

Matisyahu- This guy is SO awesome I can't even believe it!!!!! We got his autograph at the same time as W.A.S. Very cool.

Queens Of The Stoneage- Sounded good, didn't really get to watch them to much as I was in line for the above mentioned autographs. At least the booth was right near the main stage! They were very RRRROCK!!!!

Death Cab For Cutie- This is the second time to see them and sooo worth it. They were even better than the show in Walla Walla! Very good stage presence, getting the hang of being BIG stars. They will be huge!

Beck- WOW!!! Also my second time for him, and he has just gotten better in the past 11 years! Beck Hansen is a madman! Instead of having himself and band on the jumbo screens on the side of the stage, they had marionettes of themselves performing on stage with them! It was so funny. Great idea. They even had a hilarious little movie about the puppet bands backstage antics during the real bands 5 minute break!!! WAYSPOCK!!!!!!

We had a super bitchen' time, if you couldn't tell. Anyway. That's about all for now, so.....

I wonder what next years festival will bring?

Dreams Really Do Come True!

I just found out from NPR the other day that they are in talks to make the greatest failed sitcom pilot you never saw, into a major motion picture. That's right, I'm talking about Heatvision & Jack!!! I can hardly wait. Remember that I told you about this when it comes out. You'll thank me for it later. Watch this excellent program here

Are You Kidding!?!

Has anyone actually ever watched Walker, Texas Ranger? I saw my very first episode ever this morning, and I have to say, it makes The A-Team look like Shakespear! It was possibly the worst tv program ever! I can't believe it was on the air and POPULAR for so long. I think my mom used to watch that shit.
