I know it's been less than 20 years! But I haven't heard one in a while. Of course I don't go outside as much as I did when I was a kid and when I do I'm often in the car... Maybe that's why for me. not sure about you though. They sure were cool as a child though. :)
When I was a kid, we lived in a house directly under a flight path, and only a few miles north, of McChord Air Force Base. Conversations ceased for a minute or two whevever an airplane went over.
I thought I heard a sonic boom at one of the air shows. Remember the year they had the Stealth jet? That was cool.
In case anyone is interested, the Museum of Flight in Seattle is said to be amazing.
